Above Rubies?!

Have you all heard about Above Rubies???? It is a Christian ministry started by a wonderful Christian mother - Nancy Campbell - over 31 years ago! :D Above Rubies is designed to teach and support women in their most important role - Motherhood!

Above Rubies

Often times people will host Christian ladies retreats, family camps or seminars and invite Nancy and her husband Colin to come and speak. For the first time ever, Nancy Campbell was hosted at a ladies retreat here in the UK! The Lord was so GOOD and arranged things such that I was able to go :D

I took wee Junior with me and the three older children stayed home with daddy for the weekend while I went and learnt about the importance of Motherhood.

It was such a fabulous retreat and I learnt so much there. One of the main things for me was how to be a *gentle mother*. Sometimes I feel like a "bull in a china shop" in the area of motherhood and Nancy was so encouraging and inspiring as she described how to be a *gentle mother*.

Here is a picture of myself, Junior and Nancy :)

And tonight, Big Mr is off to hear Colin speak! I am excited to hear what their topic is on ;)

Junior is trying to stand :D

Summer Office Party

Every year the company Big Mr works for hosts a summer party for all the employees and families.

We all had a great time :D

The White Horse at Uffington

A few weeks ago, while on holiday, we went to see the White Chalk Horse at Uffington. It is really amazing to see. Read here for more information on it, as well as to see an aerial view of the Horse.

Back from our day in York!

As you all can see from the pictures below, we are now home from our trip to York. We spent one day there and the weather cooperated wonderfully - Praise God!

We went to Cliffords Tower and found that very fascinating after our recent study with the children of William the Conqueror.

We also went on the Roman walls of York and then to York Minster.

But one of the most interesting place we went to was Shambles Street. It certainly helps one to understand the full meaning of when something is "in shambles"!!

Although I think the children most enjoyed our visit to the Jorvik Centre- which is where Big Mr got his opportunity to try on a real Viking helmet!

And be sure to check out our new Family Photo, if you haven't seen it yet.

Apologies!

My sincerest apologies to my faithful blog readers - all three of you! LOL

After about 6 weeks of illness here (colds, fevers, dr appts, dental appts, ER visit, scarlet fever, lower respiratory tract infection) - we are finally well again - Praise God!!!!

So, I am truly sorry for not keeping up the blog, but it has been "manic" as they say in Britain. The Big Mr has been working away from home a lot as well, which has added a bit to our schedule.

Here is a picture of Junior, taken in April, to tide you through:
