Hair cut time!!!!

Well, everyone said it had to done.... and Little Miss' comment yesterday was priceless - "Do you know who Junior reminds me of?" "No, who?" (says me) "He reminds me of Samson, from in the bible!" LOL

So, tonight was the night! I think it turned out ok, considering how wiggly he was. But usually I think they look older after their first haircut.... but this time, I feel like he looks younger. What do you think?

4 children

More b-day Pictures

Mr Man is 10!!

Well, Mr Man turns 10 tomorrow - but we had a small celebration today, as Big Mr won't be here tomorrow as he is working in Portsmouth this week.

After much thought and prayer over what to do for this momenteous birthday, we had an idea. We wanted to mark this age as a stepping stone to adulthood and to encourage the children to be thinking towards that time in their lives. To mark this "spiritual milestone" we were considering the verses:

Ephesians 6:13-18

13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

And this is the gift we gave him:

MOVING to Scotland!!

As most of you all know, we are moving to Scotland very soon. I have sent out an email with our contact info - if you have not received this yet, email me!! and I will email you the contact info. If you have been missed, it is entirely an oversight, due to the extremely busy time we are in right now.

I thought now would be a good time to answer common questions we receive.

Why are you moving to Scotland? Is it because of work?

No. Not because of work.

Wow! Scotland! It's so far away! I hear the weather is miserable up there, are you sure you want to go??

Yes, we are quite sure we want to go. Cold winter weather is quite common in Canada, so I am sure we will adapt to the change from London.

So, what will your husband do for a job once you move?

Big Mr will remain in his same job and continue working for the company as he has for the last few years. His current employer has employees all over the UK and they are all required as part of their job to travel to client sites and work there. Yes he will have to travel with his job, the same as he has for the last 3 years. Yes, his bosses do try to provide him with contracts that are close to home, but alas this is not always feasible depending on which contracts are needing work, etc.

So - why Scotland? what's the big draw with that place?

When we lived in Canada and were praying about whether or not to move to the UK, the Lord impressed on us that we would go to Scotland. Much to our surprise Big Mr got a job in London! But we trusted that this was part of the Lord's plan and that Scotland would happen in the future. During the time we have lived here, we have continued to pray about it, and the Lord had not opened the doors for us. We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to live in Scotland for several weeks while Big Mr had a contract there a couple years ago. This was a wonderful introduction to Scottish life and people and we fell in love with it all!

Earlier this year, we were praying again about whether it was a time for a move - and the Lord said YES! We prayed for opportunity for Big Mr to go to Scotland for work and that while there he would be able to view potential rental properties for us, and the door opened. Whilst he was there, the Lord opened several more doors and we have now found the perfect home for our family.

We will be living on the edge of a small town in rural Scotland, south of Glasgow. Our new home is quite large - about twice the size of our "3-bedroom-semi" here in London. The garden is enormous - even by Canadian standards (.5 acre!) Since we are on the edge of town, we overlook the countryside - both farms and woodland. And yet we are only 5 miles away from a larger centre with all of the usual urban amenities.

Once we are all settled, I will be posting pics of our new home and surroundings :D

Little Miss gets a haircut!

Little Miss' hair was getting a bit too long (for a little girl), so we decided to give it a trim. Mum was sure surprised at HOW MUCH needed to be cut off - over 6"!!
