The children had some friends over and they were all playing in the garden (backyard - for those of you in Canada! ;) ) and they found this giant caterpillar!
It is the caterpillar for the Elephant Hawk-Moth.
We tried keeping it for several days to see if it would go to chrysalis form.. but no such luck. It was determined to remain a caterpillar for a while longer, so we let it go.
